The San Diego Odontic Seminar is co-directed by two distinguished professionals. Dr. George S. Matosian and Dr. Peter F. Johnson are both dedicated to the ongoing professional education of the members of the San Diego Odontic Seminar. They strive to help dentists not only learn about the newest techniques and materials but also preserve and further refine their knowledge of time-honored concepts of Restorative and Prosthodontic dentistry.

    George S. Matosian has had a private restorative dental practice in the San Diego, California area for more than 30 years. He serves as the Co-Director of the San Diego Odontic Seminar, a monthly restorative and Prosthodontic post-doctoral, continuing education program that has existed since the late 1930’s. He is a 1975, magna-cum-laude graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and has served on the faculty of that school as well.

    Dr. Matosian has had a career-long interest in and devotion to, continuing dental education, attending numerous programs and participating in the Odontic Seminar as a member of the group, since 1977. He completed the Continuum I through V advanced educational programs at the L.D. Pankey Institute, and has twice participated in the Peter Dawson Masters Forum there. He has also attended the Peter Dawson Restorative Dentistry Lecture Seminar programs, and completed TMJ dissection programs with Dr. Terry Tanaka in San Diego, and with Dr. Parker Mahan, at the L.D. Pankey Institute. Dr. Matosian has frequently presented lectures to his colleagues on topics associated with Restorative Dentistry; Comprehensive / Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning; Recognition and Solving of Complex Challenges in Occlusion and Restorative Dentistry; Digital Photography for Diagnosis and Treatment Plan Presentation; Implant Placement and Restoration; and the Relationship of Form and Function When Treating the Anterior teeth, as well as several other topics, at venues including the California Dental Association’s Annual Meeting, and with many other professional societies. He has served for more than a decade on the Council on Peer Review of the San Diego County Dental Society, and was its chairman in 2002 and 2003, and has been elected to the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and international dental society. He established his dental practice in eastern San Diego in 1977, focusing his interests upon Comprehensive Patient Care, Restorative Dentistry, Fixed Prosthodontics, Implant Dentistry, and TMJ / Occlusal Conditions. He and his wife Pam, have raised their family of three children in the San Diego area, and he is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Society. His non-professional interests include astronomy, photography, and automobiles.
